So since the last post made, we’ve mostly been buying stuff for the house. I think the only things we have yet to buy (and not all of these are definite purchases) are: a futon, a freezer, an AC unit, a vacuum, a TV/monitor, and a microwave. Everything else that a new house needs has been purchased, fit into Tony (Sarah’s Jetta), and stuffed into our storage locker at U-Haul. Once the house is set up we should have sleeping space for four guests, as well as whoever wants to sleep on the floor, and dining space for four guests as long as they’re good with very little leg/elbow room at the table.
We have also taken a trip up to Ottawa to visit with my Uncle Dennis and Joan, which was a great trip. Got to hang out with them a fair bit, as well as their two pugs Max and Edgar. Went to the National Gallery, and the Museum of Civilization, as well as having a wander around the Byward Market and do some walking around Parliament and the like. We also got a chance to head out to Kanata to see Mike for lunch. Unfortunately our trip was cut short when we found out that Sarah’s class schedule was a little difficult to manage with the hour commute from Waterloo, and changes had to be made by this afternoon.
Finally, throughout all of this we saw a couple of movies (Time Traveller’s Wife and Julie & Julia) as well as buying a few on DVD and getting a few books to add to our growing collection. I think we might have to buy another shelf just to hold all of the stuff that we’ll be buying while we’re here. We’re back in the Conference Center again, and will be until after Sarah’s orientation on the 1st which is coincidentally the day that we can pick up keys to our new place!
Cheers.
