B: Got up really late this morning after our late night last night. Went over to Disneyland for lunch and started hitting our favourite rides: Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc. Wandered through Downtown Disney as well for some Jamba Juice and trinkets. Came back to the hotel around 7 to get some laundry done and some emails and relaxing in. Stuff we forgot in the last few days after the break.
First and funniest: the one and only time I’ve ever seen Sarah feel sick after an amusement park ride was from Mickey’s Fun Wheel. That’s right, the giant ferris wheel. Granted, the carts slide around in tracks so it swings back and forth a little more, but… a ferris wheel? It pretty well ruined the rest of the rides for the day for her, unfortunately.
On the 31st (Disneyland Day #2) we had lunch at the Cafe Orleans: an excellent restaurant, however our lunch was what appeared to be a dessert at first glance. It was a ‘lightly battered’ (read an inch on every side) and then deep fried Monte Cristo sandwich (ham, turkey, and Swiss cheese) with some strawberries and grapes. We ate the insides of the huge battered lumps and the fruit, and left the rest. Got a nice look from the waitress that was something along the lines of ‘you must not be from around here, the oily batter is the best part of a sandwich!’
