B: Getting up early, will fill you folks in tomorrow. Spent the whole day in Disney’s California Adventure Park doing almost the whole thing, saw a great Pixar parade with awesome floats, and ate dinner at the Disneyland Hotel in Hook’s Point. Details will follow tomorrow.
Well, saw pretty much the entire CAP today. Every ride except Toy Story and every show except the Aladdin musical and the Electric Lights Parade. A big part of the new park is the addition of all of the Pixar shows to the Disney collection, with Bug’s Life getting a whole area to themselves, the brand new Toy Story ride, a Monsters Inc ride and an entire parade of their own.
One really cool thing they’ve got is called the Blue Sky Cellar where the Imagineers (the designers and creators of all of the parks/rides/attractions) are sharing their vision for the rest of CAP. There are going to be some amazing new rides and shows coming in the next few years, which is really making me want to turn this into a regular trip. Minus the driving, probably.
I think my favourite ride in CAP would have to be the Grizzly River Rapids, with California Screamin’ coming in a very close second. Grizzly is a round raft of 8 people that spins and plunges through a pretty intense set of rapids under a mountain shaped like a bear’s head. Screamin’ is the biggest rollercoaster I’ve been on, and it accelerates up to 55 mph along the ground before you shoot up and down steep hills and around a huge loop-the-loop.
